Looking for more gamers. Classless, level-less d100 game. I'd asked the players what were the good things and what are things that would potentially scare off new gamers. They responded:
Good things:
People from all over the world play in the campaign.
Players have a genuine impact on the world (not always a good thing) and what they do can influence the larger group's experience and vice versa. "It's a living, breathing, f***ing nightmarish world." "Players drive the setting/game world as much as the GM does."
Multi-threaded complex plots in a variety of settings.
Challenging things:
Getting on the schedule can be tricky.
People don't like to try new systems, especially when it's "unofficial" or "homebrewed".
Joining something that has been running for over two years can be daunting.
It's a crazy world. "The kind of crazy we regularly indulge in is an acquired taste, and not for the fainthearted."
Even the briefings on what is going on when told to other players can sometimes make you sound crazy. If you'd like to see an example of someone's first game who is now a long time player, check this out: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0st04ylFfuZbdyGVxSXtwicF1FHsjxL9
ANY TIME, ANY WHERE
"Stretching and yawning awake, you prepare to start another day of the same routine. But this special morning, instead of your familiar room, you are in an entirely different place, a place from the past, or future, or not at a scale for humans. Still thinking you are dreaming as memories of your life get soft at the edges, you are encouraged with a strong sense that a fellow traveler is near. Confusedly, you look out the window and see...well, it could be any time and any where and often is. You are a DORA, gifted and cursed with the ability to explore the realms."
Ever wanted to be part of a podcast and youtube broadcast?
This is a bit of a 'west marches' type of campaign in that: There are no regular parties: each game had different players drawn from a pool of around 20 people who sign up in advance on a schedule. There is often no regular plot. The players decide where to go and what to do. It was a sandbox game in the sense that’s now used to describe video games like Grand Theft Auto, minus the missions. There is usually no mysterious old man sending you on quests.
Sign up to play when your schedule allows. Because of the nature of the schedule and the adventures, this game works for both the 'able to occasionally play' as well as 'hardcore' types of players.
No books to buy; skill based system - no classes, skills do advance.
Check out the podcast of the campaign or watch a video of an average session to see if this would be fun for you at:

AD FOR 'LOOKING FOR MORE GAMERS':
Looking for additional players!
Season 4 will start being filmed in January. The sign up sheet is now available. As of right now, there is one slot left in January, one slot left in February and a few slots left in March.
Do you enjoy overcoming a challenging multiverse? Players who like mysterious storylines and absurd humor wanted for an ongoing, online campaign using the easy to learn ATAW system. The game is run over Google Hangouts and roll20.
The plot takes place in a variety of worlds and universes ranging from fantasy to cyberpunk to space opera all using the same characters as they hop from place to place.
Rather than just having someone try to tell you what the campaign is like, here is an example session: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0st04ylFfuYDLXRv1FakHGo1Yaillmmh
or listen to them in podcast form at: anchor.fm/ataw
There are no classes or levels - it is a skill based system. You can be good at lots of stuff. The rules are simple - there are no rule books you need to buy. Simple rules, complicated plot.
This campaign has already been going for several hundred hours of play time and we are looking for additional players to join up with already existing groups or form new ones. We currently have men and women from three different continents who play regularly.
If, after watching some of the sample video, you would like to get involved head over to the ATAW boards at heroiccthulhu.proboards.com/ and go to the 'new players start here' section to get started.
Note - the campaign use to be called 'Heroic Cthulhu', however the focus has changed and it is now ATAW (Any Time, Any Where) but the videos were scheduled well ahead of time.
