Let's see if we can save this one. This seems to be the way we were going:
Detect Stone/Wood/Metal Casting time: 1 round Range: 30m Duration: Concentration MP cost: 2mp You detect whether there is Stone/Wood/Metal in a 30m radius. You get +30 to spot/feel/smell Stone/Wood/Metal. For example, secret compartments/passages in Stone/Wood/Metal architecture or spotting concealed Stone/Wood/Metal weapons (vs CCH).
It has to interact with the "Hide Stone/Wood/Metal" spell though. That makes doing it as a skill bonus awkward. If an NPC is using the Hide spell, then presumably you would still get a spot roll, but the GM would have to secretly deduct the bonus?

Instead of a +30, have it be the standard +10 but if any stone/wood/metal has been hidden by a spell, this automatically reveals it?

That should work.

Otherwise, you get +10 to spot/feel/smell Stone/Wood/Metal things. For example, secret compartments/passages in Stone/Wood/Metal architecture or spotting concealed Stone/Wood/Metal weapons (vs CCH).
