I keep forgetting that concentration requires an action – I'm used to it just being a passive thing. Yeah, 8 hours sounds about right or until disconnected.
Okay then, that sounds pretty awesome. So, the spell would be…
Name: Universal Input Range: Touch Casting Time: 1 Round MP Cost: 2 Duration: Up to 8 hours or until disconnected
You attach a keyboard, mouse or any other input device to a computer-like machine. The input device does not need to be plugged in for it to work; it only needs to make contact with the machine. You may now use it as if it were properly plugged in. Should the input device stop touching the machine, the spell ends. You may duct tape part of the input device (such as the plug or cable) to the machine so that it does not accidentally lose contact. If the machine isn't designed to work with your input device, it is down to the DM to decide what you can do with it, if anything. You still need some way of being able to see what you are doing – you cannot attach a keyboard to a computer and not have a monitor show you what you're doing.

Let's make it even easier:
Name: Universal Input Range: Touch Casting Time: 1 Round MP Cost: 4 Duration: sunup/sundown or until disconnected
You can attach your laptop by means of any cord and a something sticky (gum, duct tape, etc) to a computer that is not designed for input. You can then use your laptop (mouse, screen, keyboard) to input information. This will require hacking/computer use rolls at the discretion of the GM.

I like it! Does that mean I can hack ATM machines with my laptop?

I think that an expert hacker - with the right gear (electronics roll, maybe some forgery, computer hacking, etc) could anyway. This spell would just be made for a lazy and ill prepared hacker. However, given that most ATM's are within range of various cameras (we are constantly under surveillance) robbing an ATM is a really horrible idea unless you are desperate.
There are loads of great ways to get money within this game that are perfectly legal and fairly simple.
However, many players seem to be caught in what I term a 'D&D mindset'. Kill monster, get loot. Kill ATM, get loot. This campaign encourages people to 'think sideways' to come up with stuff.
Example - Joshua made a 'water desalination plant' in an area that was overly reliant on rain water. He made enough money that not just him but all players going to that zone really don't worry about money any more.

Ha ha yeah I know. I just found the idea of standing in front of an ATM machine while wearing a Donald Trump mask and hacking it with a laptop funny. I do love that not everything is as straightforward as some of us are used to.

"I do love that not everything is as straightforward as some of us are used to." /confused Straightforward meaning "NPC gives quest to kill Dragon. Party goes and kills Dragon. Party gets monies." I like that you can do things differently to get what you want.

I think I might be safe in saying that this is one of the campaigns where often doing the straightforward thing ends up screwing the players later. Example: Zog.

Cleaned it up a bit/clarified one thing.
Name: Universal Input Range: Touch Casting Time: 1 Round MP Cost: 4 Duration: Sunrise/Sundown or Until Disconnected
You can attach your laptop by means of any cord and something sticky (gum, duct tape, etc) to a device that is not designed to accept that type of input. You can then use your laptop (mouse, screen, keyboard) to input information. This will require hacking/computer use rolls at the discretion of the GM.

I like it - now we wait a bit to see if anyone else has any 'input' (har, har) on this spell.
