For some reason I'm still having trouble with the looking out of a light bulb thing. Seems...odd.

What parameters would you set then? I was just taking your advice and keeping it simple, but you know I am more than happy to refine it a bit more Also you could allow them to look through a lightbulb, but if the lamp has anything covering the bulb, then all they'll see is the cover. It would need to be one of those lights with exposed bulbs. The logical thing to do would be to limit it to things wish displays, but I kind of like the idea of looking at someone through their toaster. Assuming they have a toaster and it's not being obscured by something else.

I will sleep on this one and see if anything clever comes up.

I'm sure some toasters have displays nowadays. I thought it was weird to look out of a toaster or light bulb too at first, but hey, it's magic, and you're already sending your consciousness into an electrical socket and over the wires.
Anyway, here's the cleaned up text. It will be easy to change it to "device with a screen/display/camera" if we need to go that way.
Name: Livewire Range: Touch (to an outlet) Casting Time: 1 Round MP Cost: 6 Duration: 1 Round
You get a momentary glimpse through a device that is connected to the electrical grid. You channel your energy through a nearby electrical socket. For best results: specify the device you are wanting to see out of - and if it's hooked up to the same electrical grid - you can have a very quick glance as though you were looking out through that device. Otherwise, you may approximate a location and/or device type, but the spell may fail or give undesirable results at the GM's discretion.

Perhaps we could go 'if it has a display, you get a clearer picture, if not the GM gives you a less clear picture - or one that is entirely from the point of view of the machine.'
There are a couple pieces of toast - one of which is smoking. One looks like it may be pumpernickle - the other is probably white bread. They are near a TOO BIG TO FIT INTO SLOT with some bagel tied to it.
Then we get weird.

WHO IN THE FUCK NEEDS A GODDAMN CLOCK ON THEIR FUCKING TOASTER?
OK.
Yes. That is a screen you could 'peer out of'.
Fucking weird humans with their clocks on everything.

Would like more people to give input.

Thinking 6 mp is a bit much. It only lasts one round and you may not even get any value from it. Either 2 or 4 imo.

You think that 6mp is too much for getting to spy on people when they're thinking there is no conceivable way for someone to do so and they've taken the time to remove all cameras, microphones and perhaps are even sitting in a feraday cage?

Important question - do we have a counter for the spell? There should always be counters for spells.

Firewall counters it pretty much. Having the device be battery-operated also counters it. Power outage, unplugging it from the socket, covering the display up, etc. Plenty of counters.
