heroiccthulhu.proboards.com/thread/4541/tech-magic-machine-invisibilityMachine Chemosensor Invisibility Range: 2m Casting Time: 1 Round MP Cost: 2 Duration: 1 hour The creature or object (up to a 3m cube) touched cannot be tasted or smelled by machines, electronic sensors, or other high-tech detection devices. The creature/object is also taste/smell-invisible to mechanical construct type creatures. If the recipient is a creature carrying gear, the gear is likewise undetectable. Items dropped or put down by an affected creature become "tastable/smellable" to machine detectors. Any part of an item that the subject carries but that extends more than 3m from it becomes detectable, such as a trailing rope. While machine "invisibility" is useful for many tasks requiring stealth, it sometimes makes the subject’s life more difficult.

"it sometimes makes the subject’s life more difficult."
In what way?

Mostly trivial inconvenience.
In the modern world, it would be more difficult to get around with motion sensors that open doors/turn on lights and pressure sensors that change stoplights, etc.
It's not hard to imagine machines that are designed to only perform their function when they smell people or a particular kind of object in cyberpunk or any futuristic zone really.

I like how incredibly niche this spell is. How does this differ from the "no smell" spell from the Air tree?

Considering merging Olfactory and Gustatory into Machine Chemosensor Invisibility. I'm for this. They are so minor you may as well just put them together.

I'm thinking this should also cover mass spectrometry (and other possible attempts to quantify chemical composition if they exist.)
Probably some overlap there, the mass spec that I've used is an x-ray machine.
