Now that's a good workaround.

I'm happy to either leave it in there and also put it into this other tree or take it out of the counter spell tree.

Name: Silence! [Credit: Pete, Scott, Freddy] <<<Sound Tree>>>
Casting time: 1 round Range: 10m Duration: 1 minute (12 rounds) MP cost: 6MP
Description: Target must win an ESS vs ESS duel with the caster or be silenced for 12 rounds. Note that many creatures (including all of the PC's) are unable to cast spells when silenced. Creatures who cast magic innately (many monsters, some special creatures) will be unaffected. Note that if someone else speaks the silenced person - if they wish - may interject with the word "Silence!" They are still otherwise under the effects of this spell.

Why not combine Air and Sound together? Sound is just vibrating air molecules.

Air tree has plenty of shit - sound tree does need some love.
Also, sound is technically a wave of pressure that travels through the air.
But more spell trees are better.

I actually think consolidating similar schools together is better. Less to keep track of and each school feels more valuable. But, okay.
