Idea:
Name: Small Crys Bomb Casting Time: 1 min Duration: Until sunrise/Sundown MP Cost: 2-10, see description
Description: You infuse magic points into a small Crys. Spending 2 MP causes the Crys to deal 1d3 damage in a 5m radius when shattered as it explodes. Each additional 2 MP that you infuse into the Crys increases the damage by one bump, up to d10 for 10 MP. When the duration ends, the Crys' energy depletes and will no longer explode.

Infusing MP into a crys would be a different spell than making it go boom. And a potentially super useful spell at that.

I was thinking you could have various forms of "infusing MP" into Crys. Some can be used as a form of energy storage, others as a bomb, others to make a particular item work, etc.
So for the idea I had regarding the bomb, it would be just a simple "spend MP to make magic boom".

For the bomb, I was thinking more along the lines of 'pulling a pin on the grenade'. You can have higher branches for a longer delay between when you pull the pin and when it goes boom.

You'd probably make something to plug the crys in to then cast a spell on that something (the one in question) then throw it or trigger it (trigger for later -another good spell. Makes the difference between 'need to cast the spell on the grenade' vs 'pull the pin and throw'.

Perhaps to move things forward, if we look at whats involved in the creation of two different magitek devices, eg a flashlight and a gun.
- for each device, if some sort of skill used used in the construction => Build/Repair magitek device? A different skill for each sized Crys (Build/Repair Magitek device - small, Build/Repair Magitek device - medium, etc)? Or A different skill based on the complexity of the device? (eg Build/Repair simple magitek device, build/Repair standard Magitek device, build/Repair complex Magitek device), something else?
- What would a spell be used for in this case? To bind/remove a crys to the device or something else?

OK- let's have this be two different things needed to install a crys:
Build/repair magitek device (specify type of device - car, farm equipment, magic glasses, etc). Yeah, it will be a horrible pain in the ass but it is in line with other skills. Also if I ever figure out how I want to let people build shit, it would be more in line. One guy can build magic glasses, one guy can build flying cars, etc.
Then a spell: Bind/remove Crys (because it's both sticking it in there and it is magic shit)
Another in the magitek line of spells (for PC's, NPC's well, they have rough shit) I can see a 'trickle charge' spell - fairly high level as that shit is normally a ritual: Allows the PC to stick in X number of MP into the crystal IF the crystal is a) not 'dead' (different spell to bring it back to life and a high level one at that) and b) not connected to anything.
Those are my thoughts right yet.

Came up with an idea that the tier 10 spell in magitek could be something that would help to make a gate. Cast that as well as the tier 10 spell (assuming redirect gate is still tier 10 from gate/time tree when we get the last two spells needed for that thing) from gate and time and possibly some other shit - like building a proper gate (stone crafting or wood crafting if you don't need it to be all that sturdy) and power it with crys for a 'PC made gate'.
It would need a lot more stuff than the Trump cards but that is appropriate.

There are a bunch of things in this thread that could be slowly mined out, made into their own spell threads and might eventually become useful to the PC's.

In addition to the appropriate crafting skill(s) being needed to fix a magic item, some other spell to patch it up.
[Sorry I don't yet have a complete view of this tree but I'm coming up with the stuff as I run across great times to have it in making magic items and whatnot.]
