I have a feeling that in a lot of the zones Logan doesn't know what the date might be. Not to mention it would be one more thing to keep track of (dates). Perhaps just have it as Time & Season (Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn)?

You do bring up an excellent point.
Maybe instead of time (nobody cares, you have no appointments or consistent work and can tell if it is day or night) perhaps a general sort of 'when' you are in terms of tech level only would be happy. Also, as for the date (and often season) Logan doesn't usually know or care honestly.
Tech level might be a good thing to find out as I always know approximately what the tech level is and can describe it in a few words.

a practitioner of the Gate and Time school would find it useful at times to know date and time as it gives an indication as to how much time has passed and also if zones are running at different speeds to each other. fFrom an in game perspective whether the result given is a specific result or vague, the spell caster can still make use of it with a few questions

Within the area the PC's think is a pocket dimension (the only place this spell will work, as currently with all spells) all of the time is about 1:1 - not a huge difference. But I still don't know what time it is.

I guess we could still add that effect in in case it becomes relevant in future, but otherwise the "what time is it" part of the spell doesn't do anything significant unless it's super important (like timing explosives or something).

We could have it tell what the time passing ratio is. That I will know.
But I'd still rather know the tech level myself.

Add the tech level in as well. Can we add something along the lines of…
Jurassic Period Stone Age Middle Ages Medieval Renaissance Old West 1900-2020 (all the various types) High-Tech (laser guns, robots, etc) Super High-Tech (imagine Star Trek) Asgardian (Marvel universe, i.e. basically magic to us plebeians)
… to help give us an idea of where on the scale it stands?

Rather than looking up a chart, I'd just say what era I thought it was close to.

It was more of an "oh this era comes after this one" kind of thing to help players get a better understanding of the tech level, as not everyone may be familiar with different time periods.

I was trying to keep the spell simple as it is only a lvl 1 spell.
