I heard we need a new level 1 gate spell?
Detect Gate Casting time: 1 minute Range: 1km Duration: Concentration MP cost: 2mp Detects whether there is a gate within range and gives you a vague bearing on it (or the closest one if there is more than one). Does not matter if the gate is active/inactive/locked/hidden/etc.

On purpose, I've kept locate gate type spells out of the game.
But I like that you're working on coming up with new ideas.

What if it was just a yes/no "Is there an inactive gate in this zone?"

It would be nice to have something like this for the older zones to find things we missed, but still have to explore new zones "manually". I'm not sure how to make that make sense in game terms. Have the spell only function if you are acclimated to that zone?
