How to edit and update your new character sheet
If you didn't make a custom character and are using a pre-gen sheet, this is probably the hardest thing you're going to have to do before the game. Stay with it; follow the steps; it is easier than it seems.
1. Once you've brought up your character sheet, click on edit
2. Change the character's name. Put in your name, your nickname, or the character's name.
Once you've done that, the character will be your own. Close up the edit dialogue box.
3. Now it's time to add your stats. Click on "Character Sheet"
4. This should bring you onto the "Basic info" tab. It should look like this:
Your stats go in area (2). Your sanity is a matrix at area (3). Let's say your sanity is 60. Click the circle underneath the "60" and you will set your sanity.
5. Click "Skills"
When you've clicked "Skills," you need to put a check in each of the skill categories as you type them up. Start with the "Combat/Weapon Skills" and work your way through.
6. Enter skills into the indicated box. If you didn't put skill points there, DO NOT change @{Learn}. Instead check to make sure you're using the higher of your Learn or the number in parentheses next to the skill. If it's higher than Learn, enter that number. @{Learn} is how Roll20 knows to use your Learn stat instead of zero.
This picture shows the "Core Skills" section, which you see has been checked (1) at the top. Go to each skill box (2) and enter your skill if it is above your Learn stat. This is the most time consuming part, but you should be able to transfer from the spreadsheet to your character in about 15 minutes.
Once you've filled in all the skill boxes with the skills from the character sheet spreadsheet, you're all done. Close up the character. Your chosen name (from step 2.) should appear under the newspaper button now.
Click on it any time you want to bring up your character sheet.
