This is largish armor, a bit larger than a human. It is dark, it has runes on it.
It also had this brand under a strap:

Here is more information on what we found. If anyone could shed some light, that would be great.
Armour: suit of armour with evil-looking runes on it. Runes remind us of something we have seen in MMO land but cannot remember what. Yin yang symbol with B on the top and M on the bottom. Bigger than a human. Found in the sewers of disappointment in Gothic where the ogre magi were conducting some sort of blood sacrifice.
Ring: really small puzzle box. Inside is a very tiny d6-shaped cube with 4 colours: yellow, greenish blue, purplish red, gold. On the top are the letters B M. On the bottom is a little hole but nothing happened when we tried inserting things into it. We believe it needs to be put on something in order to work (that’s probably what the hole is for). There is no Spike or anything on the ring where the cube can go. It is not magical nor pattern powered. Unsure about chaos. It is powered by something.
Book: written in Ozoh. “How to make a temporary gate to the cursed pagoda.” It takes the sacrifice of a sentient creature + chanting in correct Ozoh to open a rift between worlds that allows you to ride upon the unholy fog. You are supposed to go directly toward a green glow lest you be lost for ever in the fog between worlds.
Along with all of these things we found a note. This is what it said: "Capture Joshua McKay - alive and unspoilt - bring him to me directly and your reward shall be great. Those with him may be killed. M."
I'm wondering if this is related to the Overthruster in some way as the person "M" and the symbol "M" were both present together when we found it.

Hm. The "M" could certainly be Dr Morton. The B could be Blue, and the Yin Yang sign could be a symbol that they are linked together. That would correlate with the note that we found regarding Joshua.
What of the ring, book and armour? Any idea what that is all about?

Benedict and Merlin, the puppeteers of Amber and the Courts.

Benedict and Merlin, the puppeteers of Amber and the Courts. This also crossed my mind. I think the evidence leans more towards Blue/Morton, but this is also something to consider.

An impish voice speaks out
“Unfortunately both these theories, how great they are, does not account for the “larger than human” armour. We were given a hint in that we recognised the symbols from MMO land, I’m trying to think along those lines. Way back in days, after first discovering MMO land and spending a few months there, we went to deal with a “Boss”, who unfortunately I cannot remember his name. Embarrassingly for him, he got absolutely owned by us. I’m not 100% sure, but he may have been a DORA and possibly has spent all this time in hiding and rebuilding his power. The only reason this comes to mind, is that some faint memory is saying he was big, not just big for a human, “boss” big.”
"Edit. What about that powerful hermit dude who lived in a swamp? Was he not called Black Something?"

If the note refers to Morton, then presumably the armor is sized for an Oni/Ogre.
I haven't seen one, but Joshua described them as "large".

A high pitched impish voice speaks.
"So BM does indeed stand for Blue Mage. There is a portal in MMO land by the ice tower that we believe is connected to the plane of water. We went to see the dwarves, a Gnoph-keh had taken up residence in the mouth to their city. We deposed of it and went in deep to the outer gate of the dwarven city, it was completely sealed. We could not contact them nor find another way in. By sheer luck, at the end of our journeys, Freddy stumbled across the Blue Mage in Burlington, where he has taken up residency. Freddy i'm sure will have further information."

Just remembered I had not posted the other details concerning this.
Pressing the colours from darkest shade to lightest makes it bigger (and makes it tiny again if you press the same sequence). Sticking something into the hole gives it a temporary combat buff but this is only a minor effect. Was not able to determine the major thing.

We thought about it. Believe me. We ended up sticking a stick and then a carrot inside. We then left the stick inside and made the cube small again. Stick was less stick-y, if you catch my drift. Probably not a good idea to stick anything too "valuable" inside if you then also plan on turning it small while it's still in there.
