Tranquil Aura
Casting Time: 1 Round Range: 10m radius around the caster Duration: 1 Hour MP Cost: 4
Anyone within 10m of you feels calmer, less stressed out, etc. If the person is strongly inclined to feel differently, they must make a WILL vs WILL roll. The spell has no effect on anyone who is already hostile or aggressive (i.e. engaged in combat etc). Unless they have a means of detecting it, people are unaware that it is you who is the cause of this. Should you yourself act violently or aggressively in any way, the spell ends.

Rather than a radius around the target, I'd rather have it something you cast onto someone else and it can affect them (branch off - and a small radius around them) - if they fail their willpower (or ess) vs X then they are calm unless someone else gets within stabbing range (I don't want this to be the 'I get into position to slit their throat' spell) or does something they think is hostile. If they make their RR, they attack the caster or at least feel very hostile toward him/her.

This spell only works on creatures capable of experiencing emotion. The target must make an ESS vs ESS roll. If they fail, they immediately calm down and act in a nonhostile manner to you. If they feel threatened at any point, the spell ends. This does not mean that they will lower their guard if they have reason to distrust you or are generally antsy – it simply means they do not act aggressively. If they succeed on the ESS vs ESS, they immediately treat you as a hostile enemy. This spell does not work if the target was actively engaged in combat.

How would it work if the target say wanted to arrest you? Restrain you?

I would say that falls under "active combat" i.e. they are already trying to do something hostile to you. The intention behind this spell was more of a "try to avoid having them react badly to your presence" and not so much a "shit has already hit the fan, let's hit the reset button".
Let's say that you spot a campsite and a group of people. You somehow manage to identify (i.e. guess) the leader. As you approach the campsite, you cast this spell on the leader, resulting in a possibly much more friendly greeting than if you were to simply walk up to them and say hi.

This one might be better with the 'inflict one specific emotion' spell detailed on one of the other threads where I talked about the 'satisfaction' spell.
In other words, it could be kind of the same deal.
