Good news,
bad news,
weird news.
Anyone wanting to play a past character, go for it. True, you will have only 1000 points to make of it and your memories will be spotty. [The refrain from this song may help explain: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3e7vfZIC_U0 ]
Bad news: (Using Doyle as an example because I just listened to an adventure with him). Travis decides he wants to (slowly, slowly) rebuild Doyle. So does Bob. Both their characters can think they are Doyle. In fact, the whole party can do this. I don't see how it can possibly go wrong. [Which one will the real Doyle turn out to be? Yeah - I'm pretty sure we can all guess the answer to that.]
Weird news: If you don't want to try to rebuild (gods this takes forever!) past glories, you can not worry about assigning a name and just ask "Who am I" once the campaign starts out. The answer will be both unhelpful and possibly illuminating. What a pain Logan is.
Some other thoughts about character creation:
As before, everyone gets a 'native' language. If you choose one other than English you MUST put 60% into English (base 0).
There is no 'current events' skill. If you want to know a bit about a time period (like the 80s, for example) you buy '80s lore'.
Yes, that will be a pain in the ass.
I know, I know.
If anyone has any other questions on character generation (or wants to make sure Logan is nailing down his thoughts on it now or wants to illuminate parts Logan may not have thought of) please feel free to post them. Again, no spoilers please!
Edit: As for starting gear, don't worry about that.
As for insanities which your character may have had - if you choose to act them out - that's up to you. Or, you can know in advance what you want when you get to the number that gives you one. Have them 'pre picked out', if you will.
