Here are some of things I'm thinking about my character to do/look into. I've done it as a OOC post, as I'd not necessary post these on our BBS and I would like Logan to be aware so he can consider/prepare (even if the prep is considering and it being no, not possible).
Feel three to add your own.
- Try and recreate White in Red Carpet. I see this as being beneficial to the group for several reasons - 1) the benefits Talent brings the PCs, 2) the effect White has on Police and how that may assist those of us currently wanted for murder etc 3) good will with ASS and they may also be able to assist with the circumstances with the charges against some of the PCs 4) Being able to freely move about in red Carpet and the cash flow is quite useful for getting gear for the PCs and also for trade goods for other realms.
Initial thinking involves those with high talent and Maddie. (no, not having Maddie kill them, more drawing on their connection)
- getting gene sequencing/dna testing done of the PCs to see what it reveals. High tech level location the better as should be better results/reveal more. Reason - suspect that the PCs are either all related (descended from one individual, my current thinking is Merlin or Corwin or from brothers & sisters.) be it natural or artificial or the PCs have had some DNA added to theirs which makes them what they are. Depending on the results, may try and get DNA from non PC Doras to compare.

Try and recreate White in Red Carpet. Mildread won't be happy about that... My character currently is still kind of in a period of aftershock after what happened with Maddie, looking for something that grabs her attention. She would like to become a bit more strong willed (I know, scary)/able to endure more and walk the pattern... And generally find out more about wtf is happening.

So... something I could see happening in the future as well... is I'll bet mildred's daughter went off to a shadow where time works differently and is going to re-appear in the next season as a young adult highly skilled as well. If not it might be something to look into if she hasn't returned or is watching.
The king in yellow was almost a thing... was this an prince of chaos wreaking a little havoc in our earth shadow?
If Amber is real then the courts of chaos are real... and whatever oddness going on with the sahdows may be effecting them or some of their people... might wana try looking into ways to contact them...
As far as white is concerned. Why not try looking in on how the AI work... are they AI? What the fuck are they really? If looking into the white origins we could find out more about all of them. We could bring brown back and talk to him. His sewer walking is akin to shadow walking in a lesser form... interesting... are all the AI bits of amberites/princes of chaos or misguided magics they used? just spit balling ideas...

Also considering the practicalities of hiring some miners to come into the sewers and remove caveins/open up the cracks.

Also considering the practicalities of hiring some miners to come into the sewers and remove caveins/open up the cracks. Could be tricky depending on where you have it done or - as you know - give different results depending on where you have it done since the - well, let's not get into that. But yes, not a bad idea. With some cleverness (rather than traipsing up and down the same paths) perhaps the "Sewers of Disappointment" won't be quite so 'disappointing'. Disclaimer: Although there is quite a bit that the players haven't yet discovered (estimate - half?) the sewers may grow in the future. Should the players ever get an accurate map (hearty chuckle) and a clever way to check it then in the future they could just say something like "We dispatch something unbelievably clever to see if there have been any changes in the sewers and spend a couple days getting massages while we wait for the answer" and then I'd just tell them "Not yet" or "Why, yes!"

With some cleverness (rather than traipsing up and down the same paths) perhaps the "Sewers of Disappointment" won't be quite so 'disappointing'. Initial thinking is doing it in Beastkin wildwest as they accept some level of weird stuff and have miners there. As the apartments we own in red carpet are in the same location as the Aust. Embassy, checking that the two entrances to the sewers are under the embassy and set up access to the robot if it does not also have the stairs. Then set up some screens so they won't see the city and widen the two spots there. Also the cave in off the area where brown was living. (and where does the tunnel off the maze that was going to modern subway go to in Wild West? Is it a Gate?) blindfolds/hoods, (ear plugs/muffs?) random ride around the town initially may also be involved. As well as a nice pay cheque. Letting Mildred practice her 'art' was also considered for afterwords, however town too small.

That town is way too small and close nit to let Mildred slaughter fifty people. Thinking though the 'ride around' is a nice idea, in that zone it is not practical as everyone lives pretty close together. That would be the disadvantage of doing it there. Advantage - you have plenty of funds to say 'Get er done!' and people willing to work for you (the prestigious ambassador!). Disadvantage - everyone will know what you are up to and (within a couple hours) what (if anything) was found.
Every zone - advantages and disadvantages for this job.

I've avoided posting in this thread until now because, as the resident new guy, I'm still playing a lot of catch-up, so I figured it'd be wise to see what everyone else is thinking before I voice my own thoughts. So, in no particular order, here's what I have in mind: 1. Do my best to catch up with the rest of the veterans to at least have a general idea of what's going on (I'm still piecing together small bits). This also leads into 2. 2. Find out more about where we actually are, how we got there and why we are all here. Are all of us DORAs just random people or is there something that links us all together? DNA test sounds like a great start. Surprised it hasn't been done yet. 3. Assemble the tarot cards v2. Yes, I'm still very curious to see what happens (if anything) when a full deck is assembled. I'm aware they are innately magical and that they may possess some sort of magical powers even when not in the full deck, but that's about it. 4. Go back to Gotham/Red Carpet/whatever the bloody hell it's actually called and find out what's the deal. Since I'm not actually wanted for anything, at least I'm not in any danger. I think… 5. Start pulling my own weight in terms of income. So far I've been mooching off the generosity of others (thank you!) but having your own source of income is obviously better for everyone. Don't have a clue how to start doing that. Maybe once I've settled then I can figure something out. I've only visited 3 zones and 2 of them aren't at all technologically-friendly, which is what I'm best suited for. Might just stick to general bounties or something along those lines until I can figure something more permanent (and more importantly – safe). 6. The hell is with this mysterious robot? Must visit. Curious. And why the bloody hell does it have a bracelet/phone? 7. Find out more about the AI. Only one I know of is Brown, but getting to him is a bit of a challenge given his… circumstance. Yellow from what I've been told is a bit of a no-no AI. Don't really know much about the rest. Ask the other players what they know, research, etc. 8. So what's the deal with Clem? Where'd he come from? Who made him? To what end? Can I tinker with his circuits (no euphemism intended)? 9. As far as I know, nobody knows how to fly those bleeding flying cars over in Gothic. My first attempt went… It went. Would like to learn how to fly them more proficiently. 10. Speaking of proficiency, I need to practice my defensive combat, specifically sword parrying. It's currently at learn level. Maybe I can find a sword master or someone to teach me as developing my skills "naturally" in the heat of combat sounds rather dangerous. 11. Visit more zones, get more cards, find out more. 11 a. Get stronger to eventually walk the shadow zone. Curious what that's about. Not ready to do it yet. 12. Get. A. Backpack. Seriously. What is wrong with me? 13. I want a pet AI. 13a. I want a lightsaber. 13b. I want more magic spells. 13c. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCLirt141_cThat's all I have off the top of my head. I'm sure more things will come. But right now the most important thing is getting up to speed with everything as I'm sure a lot of my questions have already been answered (at least to some extent).

Logan's thoughts on Alex's post:
1. Tricky. I'm not sure how the collection of information is going on their end but be advised that my notes (all RTF I think) are a bit over 33MB. I love Scrivener without which I would be lost. I can tell you that shit is way too detailed for boards like this to keep up with but that's on the players (and fans when we can get about 300 more I am guessing). It reminds me of the old days of GM'ing when I'd hand out paper notes. Everything was fine till some joker brought a paper spike. I almost got to see Chris use it on one of the other players. Good times.
2. There is a LOT going on in this campaign. Lots of mysteries and unanswered questions. My favorite was when I think it was either Chris or Pete got some answers and the person asked them "Does that answer your questions?" and they responded that it just left them with more questions.
3. I can tell you two things right now. First, something will indeed happen. Second - and just as if not more important - remember that in this campaign (unlike most campaigns that people have played all their lives) that 'stuff' is very secondary. Sure, it helps but it is temporary. Properly applied knowledge trumps stuff. (Just knowledge itself does jack shit).
4. It should be interesting.
5. There are a lot of ways to make an assload of money in the game. I'd try to make it a personal goal to do like Pete did where he made the right contacts and did the right thing so that - in one of the zones, when they go there, the PC's are no longer worried about money. It is very different than most campaigns where 'kill shit = get loot'. In my campaign, most people don't go into battle with their money. It's dumb.
6. Good stuff.
7. Good stuff.
8. Good stuff.
9. Actually, there is one professional air car pilot in the group.
10. This is super tricky because schooling doesn't work for the PC's. You're pretty much going to be stuck attacking with a sword (etc) then trying for your 'free parry' every round trying to make it. Schooling doesn't work because (by just doing stuff) the PC's skills climb so fast that it's freaky. Just imagine someone who goes to school for 4-6 years and has learned the basics to start learning their job being beaten by someone who spends less than a month (or even less) just doing shit while on adventures.
11. Neat. 11 "Not ready to do it yet." (Two number 11's! Super.) It is stupidly dangerous. Nearly killed at least one character who then would have had to make a new character.
12. I am shocked you don't own a small bag or something.
13. Good luck. 13a. The funny thing is that I'd put in a place that had enough material to make a couple dozen. Which was then destroyed by players botching it. Eventually with the scraps of scraps one was made then lost forever. 13b. Take credit for ones you worked on. Then, work on more. This is currently the wild west of spell making where I need players to come up with spells then I give them to them at learn so that they can (eventually) playtest that shit. All part of my evil plan to get more spells. 13c. All music bad.
Edit: I do also find it interesting how few zones you've been to thus far Alex. There are a lot of zones. Whole lot. And the number is of course, always growing.

Forgot to add: should probably try and take care of the Lich who escaped in Gothic. Not sure how since by now the trail would be lost and we need to find his ghouls first. But it's on the to-do list.

That'll be a rough one since so much time has passed. In addition to all of the other stuff on the list will be all of the new stuff that is coming up. It's an easy campaign to get overwhelmed in. Heck, I've got two year old uncompleted plot threads going! Contrast with "here is your dungeon; this is tonight's adventure".

heroiccthulhu.proboards.com/post/32646/threadSuper easy to get a kit overnighted to you in Red Carpet. Don't try to sound generous. Asking for 2 crits in a row made the odds of success ~277 to 1 against with professional level skills.

That survival kit is ridiculously useful. Thanks. That will probably be one of the first things I get. Need to figure out a good way of carrying stuff around from zone to zone, possibly leaving spare bags in places like mentioned in the topic.
