What is the advantage of having breathe water when you have the "breath" spell in the air tree? Any particular thinking you're going for with this one or would it just be a generic "you can breathe underwater for X amount of time"?

The first post is just ideas - nothing has been established yet.
I could see having a 'breath' spell in both air and water trees though.

The big question on my mind is 'will Chris write up each spell in a different thread with the appropriate format' because if he does and they go through the lengthy approval process then THE BLUE MAGE IS BACK, BABY!

If he doesn't, I can write some of them up in the appropriate format. They are all great ideas. Then he can just chime in and say "no no, this is how it should be" and whatnot.

Instead of 'magic whip' (though the thought of whipping people is always good) maybe a 'drown someone from within' type of spell. Cause their lungs to fill with water - or better yet (since something from nothing is bad) a 'dehydrate' spell - one branch for harming other people (direct damage spell) and the other for preserving food and such?

Another water spell idea -
Fog. Requires a big supply of water (stream, lake, ocean). The caster can make a thick fog (different levels for 'how big of an area') that will stick around until burned off by the sun. In the daytime, this only takes minutes unless it is highly overcast, then maybe an hour. At night that shit just sticks around like student loans.

See under water - up to 200m down (you need sunlight) a swimmer can see under water say out to 20m - no mask required.

You don't get wet in the rain
You can climb out of a lake and you and all of your gear are dry
