I’d a quick check, currently there does not appear to be a suitable room due to the ~1000+ refugees I like the ides, just lacking somewhere suitable If we can identify what zone would be best for the refugees, I'll find way to fund a large farm or foundry or X. We could put them to work on all sorts of projects on a nice, remote farm... in Shermer perhaps. I had a nice chat with Elwin last time I was around and he's game, but I get a lot of mixed messages as far as what zone would be best, considering they're various species...

It would be hard to find a place isolated enough that they would be willing to live. If they were willing to be completely isolated, we could have moved them to the abandoned mining village in Canada. Even if you find a place like that, it's hard to imagine it working out long-term. The bigger problem with Shermer is that there are no gates AFAIK. Shadowwalking is too random (dangerous) with where you arrive and none of us are good enough with trumps to move 1000 people (again AFAIK). But if you could get them to Shermer, I would hide them in plain sight. Open up a Renaissance Fair.

We can get them to Shermer/that zone if we built a Clem's (yes, we have the architectural plans, plus we have 2 spare poles). The Renaissance fair is actually not a bad idea… I don't know how open they'd be to that. Might be worth talking to them about it.

We could put a fantasy LARP on a large plot of land and have them be the npc's...

They were originally MMO players, right?
Let's construct a building with hundreds of computers, where a few hundred of them can play Everquest at a time, in shifts, and farm Everquest gold and characters for cash.

And it would warm my heart if this gaming data center for farming EQ gold was built on an actual farm.

Moved this to its own thread to ease organisation.

Spoke to them some more last time I was in and one thing I heard is that they'd like to "create a settlement at some sort of crossroads so they can have a way to do trade..."
Any "crossroads" suitable for development like that come to mind?
Burlington?

Kidding about them wanting to develop their own settlement, or about looking for locations with crossroads, or about setting them up in Burlington?

Beggars can't be choosers. Let's dump the refugees somewhere isolated (Canada). I'm sure they can figure out how to hunt, but set them up with a big food cache anyway. If they don't like it, they can march back to MMOland and try to reclaim their home.

Not looking to dump them, mate.
They will be gently deposited, by design, so yours truly can turn a profit from it.

Now that we have found the St Louis Clem's in Shermer, my Ren Fair plan for the refugees is actionable. And could be very profitable. Already mentioned Guri to them. They were not thrilled about going to some space rock where there is no sun and everything is a bit… shit. I don't know what they mean by that – I like it. There's no pleasing them.
