IF the PC's get themselves into it or don't strenuously keep themselves out of it, I could very easily see them getting into a 'Game of Thrones' scenario.
While I personally am not really wanting for this to come about, I am not dead set against it.
Other people (ie NPC's) will probably be playing their own version of this as humans (and humaniods) have since they discovered the luxury of cave living.
Wanted to toss this out there because I remember Jamas bitching that the last campaign was getting 'too political' and he didn't want to play in a 'political campaign'.
I believe everyone in the world is playing in a political campaign and we are all a part of it - whether we see it or not.
So I'm giving fair warning way the hell out front.
Given the weird shit that comes about with these sort of campaigns at some future time yes, there may in fact be some sort of huge GoT to see who gets the most uncomfortable looking seat in the world.
Even though I don't watch GoT.

I think personal/interpersonal conflict in the most important kind in a game. Not necessary PVP, but having grudges/plans/machinations against others' grudges/plan/machinations is important and keeps the game from being "kill the monster, save the princess, profit." Additionally, hopefully these conflicts cause a character to evolve and change as they determine what is important to them, what they stand for, and who they are willing to work with (that blimey bastard over there!) in order to achieve a greater goal.
Considering you haven't read/watched GoT (so you might not actually know the comparisons/allusions you are making) and won't tell us much about the campaign, that's about the most robust answer I can give.

I wanted to put up that warning because I remember Jamas bitching (long ago) that the old campaign was 'getting way too political'. Wanted to head that shit off at the pass.
