Travis asked me a good question today on Skype so I thought I would clarify it here.
Is the next upcoming campaign a continuation of the old one?
The answer is 'definitely - if you want it to be'.
You can have the same personality - and some of the jumbled memories of your previous HC character if you want.
The characters will be asking themselves things like "Why can't I remember how to do X" (because they will be remaking their character with presumably less skill points) and 'why am I normal sized as opposed to someone who has to lube up and turn sideways to fit down a hallway' - but yeah.
It can be a continuation for your characters. It will be up to the players.

I wasn't only asking about continuing characters but also is this a continuation of the previous campaign? Will the KBC be an important force? Will it exist at all? This is part of the reason why I asked what game year it is - I've toyed with the idea of playing Doyle's son. It might be fun to try to wrap my head around what an adult with THAT kind of childhood might be like. However, if the world isn't the same and none of the previous characters actions have an impact on this campaign, then it might now be relevant.
How much of a continuation, if any, will this campaign be from the previous one? An answer beyond, "Play what you want. You can play a character who *thinks* he's Doyle's son" would be helpful.

but also is this a continuation of the previous campaign? Yes. Will the KBC be an important force? Will it exist at all? I'd have to put this in the 'not really' category. Unless all the players are playing their previous characters and reassert it. Although that is a fascinating character concept, I for one would miss Doyle. But yeah. It could be done. How much of a continuation, if any, will this campaign be from the previous one? An answer beyond, "Play what you want. You can play a character who *thinks* he's Doyle's son" would be helpful. Yes you can.

If all the regulars ended up playing kids of their characters, I would call this campaign "Son of KBC" or something.
