I was thinking about having something to make stuff - whether it is a spell tree or some sort of crafting table, whatever.
The problem I run in to is that it leads to an incredible escalation of power as shit is churned out for everyone.
The normal limiters include:
Money - bad limited for this campaign. The clever folks have already figured out how to generate more money than they'll need.
Time - time is a horrible limiter. There is a reason why teaching takes a couple minutes every day. Getting into a campaign where large amounts of time are passed for any reason is a really bad idea and shatters a lot of the ongoing plots. Hence, time is out.
Rare ingredients - possible but then I am stuck developing a system much like say alchemy in Morrowind. Then, if something like a yeti's foot is required well, the plots then also might get ignored/shattered as the PC's go on a yeti hunting expedition for a few months. Die, yeti, die. Again, not a great limiter.
Thoughts?
