I am designing a fairly low tech world (I hear Alex cheering) and decided perhaps I should have a price list.
Looked up a D&D price list drive.google.com/file/d/1JKB6ZY-FT8XIz6l2H0NWQ8ZRmcpai7Zm/view and after scanning through it, I found that I simply do not give a fuck about most of the items on there. Stuff like 'chalk and a small pot' would equal 'don't go crazy with weight and just mark off a couple coins but be sure to note you have it'.
So I wrote up a very short list of stuff that might matter and be expensive enough to care about.
Looking for other people's opinions - is there anything major missing?
PRICES
Armor:
Armor, magical and sparkly and shit:
Weapons, small:
Large:
Complex:
Magical:
Backpack (fer yer shit)
Clothing, rugged (inc foot-ware):
Fancy (inc foot-ware):
Food and water (per day; 5 days+ is heavy as fuck):
Grappling hook:
Lantern and a little oil:
Lockpicks (expensive, illegal)
Rope (10m, climbing, heavy as fuck)
Tent, sleeping shit (better than the ground)
Tools (carpenter, smith, etc; heavy as fuck)
Places to keep yer shit:
Simple house
Grand house
Mansion
Tower
Castle
Huge castle
Multiplier for 'inside wall' x2, good location inside town x5, prime location x10, fucking remote x.75, building it in a swamp where it is likely to fall over and sink into the swamp x.5
Shitty mount with shit needed to ride it
Good mount with shit needed to ride it
A wagon or some such like and critters to pull it (assume farmer shit - good shit costs more)
Notes - armor is armor. Describe it how you want it still only shifts one place.
I'm looking for just the main stuff people might get frequently, that actually matters (most stuff on price lists is a rare if ever purchase) and is used in the game. Much of the rest might be guessable. I'm not nearly so anal as people who spend hours browsing through price lists.
