Are there any existing spells that are similar (should try and keep them consistent)

Good thinking (as always) - not that I am aware. Hence, you're going to have a spell that will appear in a lot of different trees when we get it just so. My thoughts - Self (can make a higher level 3m range one), duration a couple minutes so it is essentially 'combat' - MP cost fairly high and 'counts as the magic' armor - not able to be combined with any other magic armor...

I'm good - anyone else have some stuff they want to put into these spells?

Presumably you have to cast it in shadow, but what happens if you walk out into daylight with it?

Presumably you have to cast it in shadow, but what happens if you walk out into daylight with it? That is an excellent point. Name: Shadowy Armour (self) Casting time: 2 rnds Range: self Duration: 5 min MP cost: 6mp Description: En wrap the caster in shadows making them harder to hit. +1 to armour (can stack with normal armour, will not stack with existing magic armour). If the damage is from the opposite school or related source of damage, the wearer of the armour takes +2d shift in damage instead. If exposed to direct sunlight, the Shadowy Armour is destroyed instantly. Name: Shadowy Armour (other) Casting time: 2 rnds Range: 3m Duration: 5 min MP cost: 6mp Description: En wrap the target in shadows making them harder to hit. +1 to armour (can stack with normal armour, will not stack with existing magic armour). If the damage is from the opposite school or related source of damage, the wearer of the armour takes +2d shift in damage instead. If exposed to direct sunlight, the Shadowy Armour is destroyed instantly. Added: " If exposed to direct sunlight, the Shadowy Armour is destroyed instantly." Thoughts?

I had not mentioned the casting requirements (re requiring cast in shadow) as, from earlier discussions on the shadow tree that seemed to be an overarching requirement (except for one(?) spell). So for this tree (and the light tree) when learning the first spell an initial stmt to the effect of "All spells in this tree (except where stated in the descrip) need to be cast in the shadow/light". This would cut down the descrips of the spells as you would not need to have the same stmt over and over again in each one.

Given rule 1, it might be a good idea to have that statement in each and every spell.
