Initial dump of thoughts re this
Cost 1 Ess of binder Cast Time: 1hr dur: Permanent range: touch Components: The object to be bound and 3hp worth of binder's blood (or amount of blood dependant on size of object? tech level of object?)
Max 3 objects or Max Ess reduced by number of bound objects (and other related spells)?
Object non sentient (higher spell can do Non-Dora sentient?)
Object will normally stay with person bound with cross realms
If bound object is lost/stolen/destroyed, will reappear with a willx3 at dawn (make each day till successful)
Binding will survive death
recasting of the spell on the bound object and person bound to will remove binding

I've been avoiding doing the ESS sacrificing spells as we did last game. It would make the players believe they actually 'owned' the objects. In this campaign gear is much more fleeting and temporary - even stuff huge sacrifices was made for. I don't want objects to be a 'permanent part of the character'. The world is...not as strong as the PC's.
Though when people are clever and do things like make desalination plants so that all the PC's are 'taken care of' in a zone I'd call that a 'good answer to the problem'.
There will be a different way to make 'bigger items' (that should be introduced about a zone or two in within S3) that may take current understanding of magic and again turn it on it's head.
