Name: Frankentech Range: Touch Casting Time: 10 Minutes MP Cost: 8 Duration: Until sunrise/sundown, whichever comes first
You touch any electrically-powered device, no larger than 3 cubic metres. For the duration, the device "comes to life," gaining the intelligence of a typical five-year-old human. It obeys your commands to the best of its ability and is able to act independently. It is powered by magic, requiring no external power source to run. Using this spell on a computer, for example, could allow you to do long and arduous tasks without needing to spend the time doing it yourself, though anything "overly complex" may prove challenging. A car can drive itself (it still requires gas, unless it's an electric car), though it may struggle to follow directions without proper guidance/instruction. A toy robot can keep you company when you're lonely, or perform other tasks...

Not too sure if I should add "it can see, speak and hear if it has means with which to do so (microphone, camera, speakers, etc). It understands and is able to communicate in whatever language you are able to."

Hum. Possible though I'd have to give some thought as to what sort of potential for abuse there is. \
Hate my new keyboard. \
Also, I advise working on the lowest power spells possible - much easier to get those through. The magic system - overall - is meant to be very low powered. The kind of thing that if you have some of the spells, it's nice but if you don't you can live without it without feeling at too much of a disadvantage. \

Yeah, will do. Just wanted to suggest something a bit more powerful as most of the other ones I suggested were fairly less powerful. I think this spell could work provided its "intelligence" isn't too high. For example, you can't tell a computer to hack into some website, but you can tell it to search for images of Jack Nicholson uploaded in the past 24 hours (long and arduous task but definitely doable). Or tell your phone to send someone a text message. Or tell a car to drive in a straight line, avoiding any obstacles in the way (you'll probably have to periodically tell it to turn/make adjustments since it has no understanding of traffic laws). Giving it too many instructions or instructions that are too complex have a chance to be misinterpreted/go horribly wrong. It's basically just a dumb Transformer but without the Transformation part.
Edit: you could also use this on something like a Drone and tell it to fly around while you view its camera without you needing to pilot it yourself. Or get a little toy car to drive around with a camera attached to it as a spy device.

Possible - I'd like to get some tech spells that can cause tech to do very minor things - maybe things that tech can normally not do. Much of the stuff we have been coming up with is easily achieved by someone who has been to a modern equivalent of a 'radio shack' (whatever it is now) and picked up a bunch of gear.

You are showing a high amount of motivation. You get out what you put in. Plus I have a lot of time on my hands. Might as well spend it doing something fun.

Since it makes a critter, this spell could just be modeled after the Summon Air Elemental spell.
Complication: that spell (and any others like it) are in need of overhaul.

This one is in need of a rewrite.
