Fair enough. Then your version looks good to me.

Because I like to leave the completed spell at the end of the thread (for convience) does anyone else have any thoughts?
Slumber [Credit: Alex, Pete, Scott]
Casting time: 5 rounds Range: 10m Duration: Until sunrise/sunset MP cost: 6mp
Target cannot wake up for the duration of the spell unless they take HP damage (no amount of noise or shaking will wake them) or someone throws water on them (or it is raining on them). This spell must be cast on an already sleeping target. The speech involved in casting most spells would usually be enough to wake up sleeping people, but this one does not.

"Until sunrise (not sunset)" was for flavor reasons. Consistency isn't everything.
Also, the sensation of "wetness" doesn't actually wake people up. See various reports of people drowning while asleep in their flooding basement and also the "put the sleeping guy's hand in a bowl of warm water" prank. Throwing water at someone wakes them up for the same reason that shaking them does.

While I agree wetness doesn't always wake people up, it is an interesting thing for the spell.
Yes, consistency will be kept. It shouldn't be a problem for this spell.

Question: does knocking someone out and then casting this work? They are technically "asleep".

If you want to crack someone over the head with a stick and possibly give them a concussion then cast this spell on them to 'keep them down' till sunrise/sunset, I'm OK with that.

While I agree wetness doesn't always wake people up, it is an interesting thing for the spell. I'm okay with there being another method of waking them. Water just doesn't make sense to me if shaking is out. How about smelling salts? Changes in bold. Slumber [Credit: Alex, Pete, Scott] Casting time: 5 rounds Range: 10m Duration: Until sunrise/sunset MP cost: 6mp Target cannot wake up for the duration of the spell unless they take HP damage (no amount of noise or shaking will wake them) or someone administers smelling salts (ammonium carbonate). This spell must be cast on an already sleeping or otherwise unconscious target. The speech involved in casting most spells would usually be enough to wake up sleeping people, but this one does not.
