I would assume once, otherwise I would say a higher MP cost to do it as many times as you like until the end of the duration. Not that you get knocked down that often…

how often does a knock down result? 4mp all day seems silly... phase is 2mp for an Opponent fails

We need to clarify whether this is a "smart" or "dumb" defense.
It sounds like you can choose not to do it, but then is used up anyway and go to waste? What if you make yourself prone?
