Casting time: 1 Hour Range: 2m Duration: Instantaneous MP cost: 4
You target up to a 2m square patch of fertile soil containing non-magical plants, seeds or other organic growing material. All plants/seeds/other at the time of casting in that area grow 10 times faster. For example: if a tree normally takes 12 months to grow fully, it now only takes around 1.2 months. Casting it again on the same spot does not increase the growth rate any further.
Once a spot has been affected in such a way, nothing else can grow in that area normally. You must cast the spell again in order for anything to grow, but it still grows very fast.

Be sure to put name of the spell in the text as well as the title.
Thinking smaller increments to start would be better - can build up with higher level spells.

Noted.
And sure. How about 2x -> 5x -> 10x?

According to google:
"It is tempting to harvest potatoes as soon as possible to enjoy them in meals but different varieties can take anything from 70 to 120 days to grow. So, while the early-season potatoes will be ready to consume by the end of May or early June, others will need a bit more patience."
and
"Corn planted in cold, wet soil is unlikely to germinate. Corn grows best in air temperatures from 60° to 95°F. Corn can take from 60 to 100 days to reach harvest depending upon variety and the amount of heat during the growing season."
Thinking that we should do it in terms of 'how long till it is fucking ready' rather than figuring out individual plant growth speed for normal plants. If someone is doing something especially slow, the GM can say 'ah hell no' - like a redwood tree.
So if a plant normally takes say four (aim high) months to grow
Lv 1: Takes three months Lv 2: Takes two months Lv 3: Takes one month Lv 4: Takes two weeks Lv 5: Takes one week Lv 6: Takes four days Lv 7: Takes two days Lv 8: Takes one day Lv 9: Takes a few hours Lv 10: I want my fucking plant right goddamn now!

I like that. You'll have to spend a lot of time practising this to get it up to those super quick levels.

Though there will be other spells on the plant tree, if someone wants to write that all up in proper format, they'll have at least that.

How does this look? The rest will follow the same format except different durations, casting times (for the really high ones) & MP costs. Or would you rather stick with the "it affects x sized patch of soil"?
Name: Fast Growth (3 Months)
Casting time: 1 Hour Range: 1m Duration: 3 Months MP cost: 2
You target a fertile patch of soil that can hold either one large plant (such as a tree), 4 medium-sized plants (such as a berry bush or wheat stalk) or 6 small-sized plants (such as vegetables or flowers). All plants/seeds/other at the time of casting in that area take no more than 3 months to fully grow. If the plant grows especially slow, the GM can say 'ah hell no' - like a redwood tree.
Once a spot has been affected in such a way, nothing else can grow in that area normally. You must cast the spell again in order for anything to grow, but it still grows at the rate of the spell. The soil can be set to grow "normally" again with an appropriate "negation" spell or such like. If the patch of soil contains no plants or seeds, the soil is still affected though nothing will grow since there is nothing there when you cast the spell.

No, per plant.
Why: There may be certain magic plants and shit. AND I have absolutely no desire to figure out exactly how big a plant is and how many can fit into - fuck that. One plant.
Duration is something to question. I'm thinking 'instant' and they just have had their growth hormones kicked up a bit.

You target a plant/seed that has been planted in a place where it can grow. The plant takes no more than 3 months to fully grow. If the plant grows especially slow, the GM can say 'ah hell no' - like a redwood tree. All this does is accelerate the plant's natural growth rate - it does not give it any other special properties.

Why? You're not affecting the ground, you're affecting the plant.

Was just thinking of a drawback to the spell. Not quite sure what else to put.

I think the drawback is that you can only do one plant at a time. If you are trying to grow a lawn, you're fucked.

I mean, you can still do this on 4 trees a day assuming you have 10 MP. Do it every day for a week and that's 28 trees.
…
Yeah I see your point.
