Have reformatted the healing tree, however have not added/reworded the boom boom spell as yet.
Do undead (and/or other mobs) take damage from healing spells? Do some undead (and/or other mobs) (eg the weaker ones such as skeles and zombies) have a weakness to healing and thus would take more damage? Is there anything that would have resistance to healing?

What?

I decided not to mess with that. Undead take damage from pretty much every elemental so I just left that out.

Level 10 of the healing tree is the boom boom spell. Was going to reword to say heal instead of damage. There is a section of it that talks about if something has a weakness to the element and if something has resistance to an element. Was trying to work out if to leave that bit out if it is not relevant for healing.

Ah - I see. Yeah, I don't even have descriptions of it on my thing.
Honestly not sure about having healing damage undead. They are opposites (life, death magic). OTOH - no water doesn't get a special RR vs fire magic, etc.
What do you think Pete?

Personally I've never been a fan of "healing" magic doing damage to undead. Holy magic sure, because that encompasses a lot more than just healing. But pure healing should do just that – healing.

Do we want to have a way to actually heal undead? If so, should we use the normal healing tree stuff or make new spells in the necro tree? (And if healing doesn't damage undead, clarify that undead healing does not harm the living.)

If as a general rule opposite elements do greater damage due to a weakness to that element and Healing is considered life magic then yes.
Holy magic does not exist, so not part of the picture. Also the holy magic trope is a good vs evil type thing, so is an opposites thing anyway and assumes that undead are evil. A lot of it derives from the Novel Dracula where Dracula was repelled from the cross due to vampires being agents of Satan. And then Hollywood expanded with other holy items such as holy water.

So what you're saying is we need a holy magic tree ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) But in all seriousness I still don't see a need for healing magic to do any form of damage to anything. While it's true that elements do great damage to their opposite element (generally speaking anyway), undead aren't really an element. They are just a thing. The question really lies in whether we want any particular magic to do "bonus" damage to undead, not whether healing magic should do damage or not. As for actually healing the undead, Necromancy seems like the obvious tree for that.

Let's use this off of the 'create pet' spell (so branching off 10):
Undead Healing [Credit: Scott]
Casting time: 1 round Range: 10m Duration: Instant MP cost: 4 MP
Description: Heal undead for d6 HP.
Undead Healing 2 [Credit: Scott]
Casting time: 1 round Range: 10m Duration: Instant MP cost: 4 MP
Heal undead for d8 HP.
Undead Healing 3 (final) [Credit: Scott]
Casting time: 1 round Range: 10m Duration: Instant MP cost: 4 MP
Heal undead for d10 HP.
(Simple rework of the elemental healing and in the same place as they).
