Imagine how bad it is in the cyberpunk world where the corps are more outwardly evil and in charge.

In other words just live in the sewers and order pizza while being looked after by your giant mutated rat father figure who teaches you kung fu so you can fight crime.

Yes. However, I think in modern day China where they are getting the tech now to be able to run every person's face that we are seeing what will be coming up.
And since many years ago privacy died, imagine this:
I get goggles (or hell why not contacts?) that have some great software uploaded. I can look at people and tell who they are, their criminal record, credit rating, etc. Sure, people will say 'but that's not legal' - to which I reply "Can't stop the signal."
This is one of the reasons why I'm cautious about Cyberpunk type adventures. You need tech to advance in certain areas but not at all (or go backward from where we currently are) in others.

Some of that stuff was pretty funny.
But imagine it for the PC's who literally do not exist in any records, in any data base? They would stand out like a sore thumb.

Facial recognition seems to be coming up against a wall. Faces just aren't as unique as say, DNA...or even fingerprints. Developers will claim they are 98% or so accurate, but for the usage you envision only 98% accurate means 140 million false positives against a world database of 7 billion people.

That is interesting - do you have an article to read on what you are saying?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facial_recognition_system#Advantages_and_disadvantagesSo it's good for biometric security. You can have a system that checks people's faces against the pic on their ID. Say for building security or password protection. It's not good for positive IDing someone on the street. The best it can do is give a (long) list of potential matches from a database. In this way it's kind of like blood type evidence vs DNA evidence. Good for ruling people out.
