We went there on purpose, yes. Shadow Walked. We eventually pieced together enough clues to warrant having a look.

The fact that the last chance saloon was burnt down with the message "be seeing you" and The Pattern missing leads me to believe it somehow moved to The Village. I may be wrong, of course. It may be a different pattern. But it seems like an awfully big coincidence.

So apparently "the eyes" may in fact be referring to my eyes as it appears I'm the only one who has a guy literally inside of my eyes. The "it" may be referring to Corwyn, or his mother The Unicorn. I think. Maybe.

We did some surgery and removed one of my eyes – there was nothing in it, but once my eye returned after reaching Residual Self Image, the man was still in them.

So fuck me I think I'm possessed. I hope they're nice.

Yes. Still there. And I believe they are the source of the voices I keep hearing – "the eyes have it".

No idea how it got there or what exactly it is. Our current theory is that since Doc was sent on a mission to create a Logrus to help balance out the Pattern, and we know that the Pattern was created using the Jewel of Judgement (the serpent's eye), in order to create a Logrus we would need the Serpent Eye's counterpart – The Unicorn's eye. But that confuses me since I thought The Unicorn was all about The Pattern, so why would you need it to create a Logrus? Or is this some kind of philosophical bullshit where one creates the opposite.

In any event, would everyone please take a look into their eyes and see if they have any people living in there. I'd like to know if it's just me who's been chosen to be tormented by (The Unicorn?) whatever's in me.

I don't know. Maybe. Makes sense either way. Does anyone know for a fact who created the original Pattern & Logrus? Did the Serpent create The Pattern AND Logrus or did The Unicorn have a hand in creating one or both of them? Is the Jewel of Judgement actually one of the Eyes of the Serpent? Who exactly is Dworkin? Do the Serpent & Unicorn have names? Where did the Unicorn and Serpent come from?

Some of this is fuzzy, so I may have some of it wrong...

The original Pattern and Logrus just Are - Order and Chaos. The Pattern IS the unicorn, and Logrus IS the serpent. The Jewel of Judgement, I believe, is one of the eyes of the Serpent, but couldn't tell you how it was taken. I believe that the Jewel may have been used to create the first, or one of the first Patterns in Amber, by a goofy old fuck.

Now, that goofy old fuck, Dworkin - whose face appeared in front of you and me, Freddy, back when we first met - who said "Return what has been taken" - he's older than dirt and he "guards" the Jewel. Dworkin is probably the person to create the "first" pattern... But he's probably too crazy to have a conversation with these days... Doc Fulton and Joshua could take you to him, they know how to find him.

If you and Joshua ever get a chance to sit down and talk with ol Jack Swade bout all this stuff, he can give you all kinds of details. If you give him a happy pie(I left a few in the Embassy safe) and some whiskey, he probably won't shut up about it!

If you want my advice, I’ll give you the drum, Freddy. I say forget all this shyte about Patterns and Logrus, rainbows and Unicorns - nothing good will come of it. If you're smart, the next time you see Jack Swade, you'll just smile and nod and talk about the weather instead. There’s a theory which states that if a bloke discovers precisely what the Simulation is for and why it’s here, it will instantly vanish and be replaced by something even more bizarre and confusing. And then there’s another theory which states that this has already happened.

While the idea of burying my head in the sand like an ostrich doesn't strike me as a bad one, it does when I literally have something/someone living inside my head.

Now I'm getting really confused. Some are saying that Logrus created Pattern, others are saying that they both already existed. Did Logrus create The Serpent or did The Serpent create Logrus? Or, as Raslen put it, are Logrus and The Serpent one and the same? If that's the case, and if the same can be said about The Unicorn and Pattern, then one can surmise that if The Jewel of Judgement (Logrus/Serpent's Eye) created The Pattern, that the Unicorn's Eye can create The Logrus. Except that can't be if they both already existed.

My theory:

Logrus existed. It made The Serpent. For some reason, someone/something created The Pattern using Logrus. The Pattern then made The Unicorn. I believe the reason for the Serpent/Unicorn is so that Logrus and Pattern could extend their influence through a sort of "avatar". A bit like how God made Jesus. Except in this case, there's 2 Gods and 2 Jesuses. Polar opposites. Paradoxically, The Serpent's Eye can be used to create Pattern and The Unicorn's Eye can be used to create Logrus.

I'm probably way off but my head hurts and if I think too hard, I'll probably start hearing v- FECK OFF YOU CUNT I KNOW THEY HAVE IT.
