Few things to chew on as you ponder the big picture:
1. Pattern ghosts are apparently a thing in the Simulation. For example, Shortly after arriving to the pattern room, in the Village, Colburn also arrived. Colburn was already with me, so this presented a problem. Colburn then decided there could be only One. Colburn agreed. I placed a large wager on Colburn. Colburn took Colburn's head and I made out handily.
2. Walking a Pattern, even a second time, is a great way to rejuvenate the mind and "remove" pesky things, like irritable bowel syndrome and spirit-bound-Cthulhu-torture-devices.
3. Walking a Pattern comes with a free ride at the end, why not use it for something exciting... All you have to do is Will yourself... I'm thinking Fort Knox, or Splash Mountain.
