When Doc and I were in Gothic looking for some alchemical advice, we went to visit Yandoon, only to find him dead on the floor with a knife sticking out of him. We were unsuccessful in determining the time of death or any other further details, but I believe he may have been stabbed multiple times. We then went and buried him in his backyard. We went to the government and told him he had fled the city due to the riots & food situation and bought the house since he was no longer living there. We are using it as a "flop house" at the moment, sort of a quiet meeting place but nothing more.
This got me thinking about something Raslen said a while ago and I'm starting to think the Joker is the one responsible for this. At first I thought it may have been Professor Ainsworth (Yandoon had a thing for her, so possibly a lover's quarrel) after I found a photo of her under his pillow. But, after looking back at some of the reports, I am starting to think it may be the Joker. He may be killing off anyone we are associated with…
No. No further investigation. We didn't have the time/desire at that moment. We certainly don't want anyone going around telling people he is dead either since we just told the government he had fled the city, so any investigation will need to be done quietly. I'm still thinking it may have been the Joker personally.
Can't remember. I think we may have left it in the house or Doc took it. We cleaned up the entire house after our search yielded no results. Any blood splatter etc is no longer there. We can have a look again the next time we are in the area. I suspect we probably left the knife in the kitchen knowing what we are like. Or it mysteriously disappeared since we weren't paying specific attention to it… Our forensics investigation showed nothing so we didn't think much of it.
I reckon it was the Joker too, on account he knows we visit Yandoon. And he probably spit the dummy when he got sprung by me and Mildred behind Yandoon's place.
I wouldn't assume that. I know we like to think the worlds revolve around us, but wasn't there a big time lapse between fighting joker behind the shop and finding Yandoon bumped off? I doubt that he just laid there for months, and I doubt that Joker randomly came back months later to skewer him just ahead of Doc and Freddy's visit.
Hey, is that the same chap that attacked Dana, Glen an d me? I shot him, got him good, he fell out of the helicopter, so he shouldn't be a problem anymore. That was a while ago.
That was him, and we definitely got him. But he keeps coming back, like a DORA (one of us)...except he doesn't seem to get weaker each time like he would if he were really one of us. (That might be something worth researching.)
I still think CU&D is the way to go. You could also try and lure him outside the wall to get rid of him for good, but that is a risky proposition.
That might be the reason we haven't heard from him in awhile. He's carked-it a few times recently and might have been convalescing and recharging his residual self image.
And two things that stand out like dog's balls: 1. The Joker has the motive and style to harm blokes close to us and leave a sharp in their back to aggro us. 2. The murder happened shortly before the lads showed up. Otherwise, the starving yobbos would have stumbled upon the body already, ransacked the place, and possibly notified the authorities.
There are other possibilities... A harlequin or local starving yobbo coulda dunnit, but seems unlikely they would have left a knife behind. They would have killed him and ransacked the place.
Ainsworth coulda dunnit, but I don't think they were actual lovers. He had a crush on her, but didnt have the nerve to make a move.
If someone wants to check his crow's nest and look for signs of his returning there, its located a few blocks away in a tower at [blah]. Check for traps. He likes trip lines and claymores.
So, here's a bit more in-depth information as to what we found when we arrived at the house.
The door was unlocked. There was a foul stench coming from within, and when we found the corpse it was partially rotting (which would suggest he had been dead for a while). I suspect the reason no one else had discovered him earlier is because of the alchemical reagents in his house masking the stink unless you got close enough. The knife appeared to be a kitchen knife, one which would be typically used for cutting vegetables, which we found odd as we had never known Yandoon to cook much let alone cut vegetables. There were a bunch of spoiled potions and strange, unused ingredients. It did not appear as if he had been robbed.
Just letting everyone know that if you have a trump of this house, it is broken. Things are a little bit chaotic and whatnot and a storm came in and tore the roof off of the house. This happened while we were examining the eye of the unicorn. I imagine it also has to do with the new Logrus in place. Things in our world may be a bit… exciting and awkward for a while until things settle down.
