Casting time of spell, got it.
Now I'm confused on the emphasis of "it doesn't cost me magic points". I already spent the magic points. I'm wondering why would one want an item with teleport, when I can simply cast teleport. Either way, it costs magic points. I'm sure I'm missing something.
Is this because there are zones where people have no magic points or some environmental effect strips magic points to zero?

OK - let's say you use the 2MP thing I mentioned earlier. Your 13 ESS now only gives you 11 MP.
Then, you go casting mad on the 'give every one a -10%' spell.
For some reason, the bad guys can't get to you and you are great at this spell. You then cast it 50 times during a single combat.
You are still at 11MP. Since you have the fetish for this spell, it didn't cost you additional MP.
Now, if it is something you are only casting once a day, it is a horrible deal.
Not sure of what's up with the cast time without looking it up.

Ever played games like Path of Exile? In them you have spells that you can cast normally but you also have spells that reduce your maximum mana and are always active. Fetishes work similar to the latter. You temporarily sacrifice a bit of your maximum MP in order to be able to cast that specific spell without having to expend any further MP. So you could theoretically teleport for free as many times as you want, assuming you don't fumble and blow up your fetish or whatever.

Oh - just looked at the first post on this thread and there it was.
The only spells that are effected by 'cast time' are those with less than one round that become one round. Everything else is the normal cast time. This just affects MP.

Gotcha, it's like it has unlimited charges, unless the spell specifies once per day.

If you could build up the 'make fetishes' to a high enough level, and have the high level spells, etc - possible.

Just be aware that you're still restricted to magic in certain zones, so if you can't cast spells somewhere, you can't do this. Or if you need a willpower roll, you still need to do that (and if you fumble the willpower, you're done casting that spell for the day).

I have a feeling that building this up would take the longest out of anything else we have currently. Even for just a single skill tree.
Need a crafting skill (no crit) Need a make fetish skill (crit to advance) Need the spell (crit to advance unless you have it already)

This is all true, but a magic didgeridoo that teleports you places! Come on! I can't think of much that's cooler than that!

These count as a magic item for any "magic item goes bye bye" effect, yes?

Yes.
However if someone was good at making a fetish (out of whatever material) and enchanting it, it would also be a nice 'blocker' item.

You making some sort of special gun using all of the elaborate tools normally used to make guns? Or were you just hoping to 'make a roll'?
Also with making a gun I feel I should point out that since there is metal in it yeah, you need metal working. Wooden handle? Wood working. Etc, etc.
Complex stuff requires more skills.
Making a Rasslin' Rad small wooden totem requires 'wood carving skill' and a knife. A small wood carving set would be even better.
